Skill Levels
Whether you're brand new to hockey, returning to the ice after a few years away, or looking for a faster-paced game, there's a place for you at HYHA!
Our Adult Hockey program offers several recreational skill levels to accommodate a variety of abilities and experience. Participants are welcome to attend any skill level that matches their comfort, experience, and preferred pace of play. You're not limited to just one group!
Beginner / Low Rec
Perfect for first-time players, those returning to hockey after a long break, or anyone who prefers a more relaxed pace. This level focuses on having fun, building confidence, and enjoying the game in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.
Mid Rec
Designed for players with some previous hockey experience who may be getting back into the game or prefer a more moderate pace. Mid Rec offers a balance of recreational play, skill development, and friendly competition without the intensity of higher-level games.
High Rec
Ideal for experienced players who have played competitive hockey in the past or developed strong skating and hockey skills over the years. High Rec features a faster pace, more advanced gameplay, and a higher level of friendly competition while maintaining a recreational atmosphere.
Learn to Play
Curious about hockey but not sure where to start? Learn to Play is a great opportunity for adults who want to experience the game for the first time! Whether you're a hockey parent interested in understanding what your child is learning or simply looking to try a new sport, this program introduces the fundamentals of hockey in a fun, supportive environment. No previous hockey experience is necessary!
